License Agreement and Terms of Use

SDM Dev grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Lumber Optimizer software under the terms described below. The software is licensed, not sold.

The agreement covers both the free (Free) and the paid (PRO) versions of the software.

The free version is provided with no time limit and includes the FFD algorithm, the general cutting mode and the graphical preview.

The free version may be used in commercial projects.

A PRO license is activated with a key and is valid for the paid term depending on the plan: Project — 14 calendar days, PRO — 91 calendar days, lifetime — no time limit. The term starts when the key is issued.

One license allows simultaneous use on at most two computers (two seats). A seat can be released by deactivating in the add-in settings or by contacting us.

Computer identity is verified by a fingerprint of five hardware components; a match of three components is enough to consider the computer the same. This lets you replace individual parts without losing the license.

Re-binding the license to a new computer is allowed up to five times a year. Exceeding this limit does not block the software automatically, but entitles SDM Dev to request an explanation and, where abuse is indicated, to restrict the license.

A lifetime license grants the right to use the version of the software available at the time of purchase, with no time limit.

Updates are not included in the price of any plan and are not an obligation of SDM Dev. New versions may be released and made available to active licenses at SDM Dev discretion.

When upgrading to a lifetime license, previously paid plans are credited once per plan type: $15 for Project and $30 for PRO, regardless of how many times they were purchased. The maximum credit is $45.

Decompiling, disassembling and modifying the software is prohibited, except where expressly permitted by law.

Transferring, reselling, renting out or publishing license keys is prohibited.

Circumventing the license verification mechanisms is prohibited.

A breach of these terms results in immediate revocation of the license without a refund.

Payments are processed by an external payment provider. Prices are listed on the pricing page and may change; a change does not affect an already paid period.

A refund is available within 14 calendar days of purchase upon request through the contact form. After a refund the license is revoked.

No refund is made if the license was revoked for a breach of the agreement.

The software is provided “as is”. We make reasonable efforts to keep the calculations correct, but we do not guarantee the complete absence of errors or the fitness of the result for a particular purpose.

Cutting calculation results are advisory. Responsibility for design decisions, material procurement and construction work remains with the user. Verify the results before handing them over to production.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SDM Dev is not liable for lost profit, material overrun, downtime or any other indirect damages related to the use of the software.

The total liability of SDM Dev is limited to the amount you actually paid for the license during the last 12 months.

All rights to the software, its source code, interface, documentation and trademarks belong to SDM Dev.

Autodesk and Revit are trademarks of Autodesk, Inc. SDM Dev is not affiliated with Autodesk, Inc. and does not act on its behalf.

The agreement remains in force until terminated. You may terminate it at any time by uninstalling the software.

We may revoke a PRO license in case of a breach of the terms. The free version remains available.

We may update these terms. The current revision is always published on this page with the update date. By continuing to use the software after a change you accept the new revision.
